Description
The Porta Volta chair, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, marks a new chapter in the long-standing collaboration between Molteni&C and the architectural studio, reinforcing their relationship with the Molteni Group. A special edition of this chair will be used in the reading room of the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem, a project also involving UniFor, a Molteni&C subsidiary, for the restyling of the main reading room with furnishings and library systems. The design of the Porta Volta chair features a balance between the upholstered seat and the rigid backrest, forming a U-shape, with a comb joint connecting the backrest to the frame and legs. These elements are angled to ensure stability, comfort, and support. The structure is crafted from high-quality solid wood, while the seat is generously padded with materials that offer exceptional comfort. The chair is available in a wide selection of fabrics, leathers, and mohair velvet, making it an elegant addition to various environments, including dining rooms, living rooms, and offices.
