Ninety years and still going strong. The production of the "model 904", known as Vanity Fair since 1984, began in 1930. The original design is said to have been reinterpreted by Poltrona Frau based on the sketches left by Renzo Frau to his wife Savina. Over the years, Vanity Fair has become one of the most universally recognized icons of Italian design, a symbol of the company. To celebrate its ninetieth year, Poltrona Frau decided to launch the Vanity Fair XC, asking designer Roberto Lazzeroni to revisit the model and adapt its proportions to today's lifestyles. The result is a version that stays true to the original, yet is even more comfortable and inviting.

Description

The Vanity Fair XC armchair features a solid beech wood frame, ensuring durability and strength. The suspension system uses hand-tied steel springs secured to jute straps for long-lasting comfort. The backrest is padded with rubberized horsehair, while the armrests are hand-shaped using vegetable hair. The seat cushion is made of goose feathers with a polyurethane foam insert, offering a perfect balance of softness and support. The feet are crafted from wenge-stained ash, and the upholstery is available in Pelle Frau® or luxurious fabrics, including ColorSphere®, Heritage, Nest, Soul, Cavallino, Velvety, and various customizable fabrics (C.O.M.). A line of leather-covered studs along the back and sides enhances the armchair’s elegance. Each piece also features a brass plate with the Poltrona Frau logo, available in gold or gunmetal grey finishes, with the option for customization. The armchair is not removable.

The matching ottoman, available in two models (pouf and pouf with storage compartment), features a birch plywood structure and a base in MDF with textured black varnish. The pouf with storage includes a mechanism that holds the lid open and softens its closure. The ottoman is upholstered in Pelle Frau® or luxurious fabrics, with a customizable brass plate.
