Description

The frame is made of stained solid wood in eucalyptus, graphite oak, and black oak. The base is crafted from solid wood with anti-slip plastic feet. The internal frame consists of solid beech wood (Picea abies) and wood particle panels, with elastic webbing. The structure's padding is made of high-density, flexible polyurethane foam with a combined velvety lining. The seat cushions feature a shaped polyurethane insert and sterilized goose down, with a 100% cotton cover. The back cushions of the sofa are filled with polyurethane flakes and sterilized goose down, while the back cushion of the armchair is composed of a blend of shredded maize fiber and recycled polyester fiber (Solotex), with a 100% cotton compartmentalized cover. The external cover is removable, with details available in the attached sheet.

The brand is distinguished by innovative design, continuous research, and the adoption of advanced production techniques, supplying furnishings for museums, hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships, with collaborations from renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, and Hannes Wettstein. Molteni&C received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro career award in 1994 and 2020, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design). Since 2012, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, it has exclusively reissued several iconic pieces by Gio Ponti, intended for private residences, special projects, or limited editions, faithfully respecting the original designs.
