After the success of the Borea collection, Piero Lissoni and B&B Italia continue their commitment to research and sustainability in the outdoor sector with the creation of Nooch, an innovative modular seating system inspired by the tropical botanical garden of Nong Nooch in Thailand. The main feature of Nooch is its structure made from recycled aluminum, a lightweight and durable material that is fully recyclable. The design is inspired by simple tubular shapes, elevated through careful design and a refined semi-gloss finish. A distinctive element of the collection is the intersection of the structures, characterized by an elbow-shaped curve achieved by bending the tubes, a perfect example of how functionality and aesthetics can coexist. Nooch offers the possibility to create an infinite variety of configurations thanks to two seating modules: one rectangular and one square. Both are equipped with a slatted aluminum top, on which the cushions rest, and can be enhanced with backrests and armrests. The modules can be used as standalone units or connected together using special interlocking joints, allowing for various arrangements. Additionally, a series of bridge inserts can be used to further expand the composition options. The padding is also designed with sustainability in mind, made from regenerated materials that are fully separable, consisting of two layers of polyurethane with different densities: one in recycled polyurethane and one in virgin bio-polyurethane, all wrapped in a recycled PET casing. Completing the system, a practical round service element can be placed between the cushions for additional support, along with a backrest/armrest cushion designed to be inserted between the modules, thus creating inverted and double-sided seating.
