Presented for the first time in 1949 at the Guild Cabinetmakers Furniture Fair in Copenhagen, the chair presented an innovative aesthetic. Comfort and flexibility, innovation and modernity today, as then, mark this seat with veneered back, angled legs and curved seat tilted backwards. The shape allows flexible seating positions and although the design was innovative for Mogensen, the distinctive details such as mortise and tenon joints completed with contrasting wooden wedges demonstrate the designer’s constant passion for craftsmanship.
