Arne Jacobsen received an honorary degree from Oxford at the end of the project. This innovative example of total design is, today, considered its most significant work. The bodies are made of curved plywood with wood veneer. The structure is made of brushed aluminum with a 5-spoke rotating base with a fixed sprung height.
